What is Acai?

The Acai palm is cultivated for its fruit, leaves and wood. Acai palms are tall, slender trees that grow to more than 25 m tall, with feathery leaves up to 3 m long. The fruit is small, round and black-purple in color (similar to our blueberries).

Using acai berries

Acai berry powder can be mixed into juices, mixed with fresh fruit, mixed into smoothies, yogurt.

Make purple lemonade

• 1/2 squeezed lemon
• 3 dcl of water
• a little (1/2 teaspoon) acai berry powder

Make yourself an antioxidant smoothie

• 1 frozen banana (you can also add a fresh apple or any other fruit)
• 1/2 cup "baby" spinach
• 1/2 glass of oat milk
• 1 teaspoon acai berry powder
• 3-4 ice cubes

The lyophilization process - what is it?

Freeze-drying is a special process where the fruits are first frozen, and then 95% of the moisture is removed. During the entire process, the fruit retains all its nutritional values, structure, color and composition. Freeze-drying fruit has a long shelf life, without additional preservatives. The process is time-consuming and takes 3x longer than if  the fruit were dried in the usual way.
